Born in Townsville, Arminelle studied Speech & Drama at Perry Studios and Dance at Ann Roberts School of Dance. At the age of 18 she met Jean-Pierre Voos and was cast in Tropic Line’s production of The Crucible where she also met Terri Brabon and Kellie Esling, two people who continue to have a huge influence on AwA.*
*Interesting side note - Terri actually named AwA. After weeks of agonising over what to call this Townsville-based acting studio for children and young people, Arminelle went to Terri for advice. Never one to mince words, Terri’s suggestion was Acting with Arminelle because, in her words, “that’s what it is”.
